Chair Project Complete!

After almost a month, I am done with the chair. I realize that seems like a whole lotta time devoted to one seemingly simple project, but it was hardly that. I had to wait between each layer of decoupage to dry, painstakingly cut the little pieces so as to fit in the grooves and curves of this frame, and of course, recoat it a few times for extra shine. I am tickled with the way it turned out, and it looks awesome in the entry way. Yes, that is an old working gumball machine it is next to. I'm fairly quirky with my decor sense. There's also a nifty little wall hanging of a very old latin painting of a kitty, and it is underneith our shot glass rack. We had the glasses in a wire spice rack, but ran out of room, so we bought another wooden spice rack at the thrift store (for a buck!). It's solid black, and I think fits the space better anyways.

So, voila, da chair!

I'm now turning my attention to a hideous side table we picked up at a thrift store for a couple bucks. I need something to go next to the couch in the living room. It's currently got a nice coat of black paint on it, and I'm slowly adding a bit of decoupage to dress it up, although i am going with a more traditional style (more wood showing). After that, I'll turn my attention to replacing our standing lamp that is in that space, as Anthony feels the need to rattle it like it's a fireman's pole. *sigh* I'm hoping to get a hanging lamp, then recover the shade, perhaps with velvet scraps? We'll see what I find!
