"Chalkboard" Leaves

Well, this painting is actually quite different than how it started. This was a scrap piece of wood leftover from Rick's custom card cabinet that he made for Anthony' room. I think it's MDF, whatever, to me it was a blank canvas!
I had spray-painted it black while I was deciding what to do with it. After the paint dried, I realized it looked an awful lot like a chalkboard, so I went with that. I pulled out my artist's chalk and began srawing a very pretty set of leaves swirling around in a blue whirlwind. The deep colours of the chalk were striking against the dark background, but I noticed the medium was easily brushing off, so I went to spray it with fixative. *Poof* The entire image dissappeared. I guess it was a reaction to the paint behind it, but the entire chalk drawing vanished!
Out of frustration, I used white acrylic paint to draw out a stylized vine, and then redrew my leaves on paper. Once they were sprayed (and didn't go bye bye), I carefully cut them out and decou'd them to the vine. So, not originally how the painting was intended, but it still looks pretty nice!
