Stained Glass Lotus

Well, I have a deep love for stained glass, yet have never used this particular medium of artwork. I'd love to, but I am aware of how expensive it is to get setup, let alone to purchase the materials. So, what's an artist to do? FAKE IT!
Actually, this process had occured to me while doing the chalkboard leaves painting. I noticed how brilliantly the colours popeed out when using a previously chalked paper and decoupaging it. So, brilliant, in fact, that they had a luminescent, glass-like quality.
As this was a first attempt, I learned a lot from mistakes made. I am unhappy with the background, but it's a simple planning err that is easily remedied for the next piece. I am definitely going to be practicing with this!

and a few closeups so you can really see the impact of the colour and how it was blended.
